🔹 Mixing: Mix the A and B packs thoroughly for at least 3 minutes.

🔹Application: Apply the first coat using a medium pile roller or brush. Wait 24 hours before applying the second coat. Apply the final clear coat after another 24 hours using a foam roller.

🔹 Curing: Allow 3-7 days (depending on temperature) for the coating to fully cure before refilling your pool.

Received sound advice!

We received fantastic help and advice from Julian whilst we planned and executed the build of our pool. From the waterproofing, through to the specialist paints, we received sound advice and it was never too much trouble for them. I’ll also say that their calculation of the quantities meant we didn’t spend more than we needed to. Thanks for everything, through each step we took.

★★★★★ Mrs Beverley H

Success

With limited experience of painting and decorating, I was daunted by the task of having to re-paint my pool. I would like to thank Antel's Technical Support (Julian in particular) for his patient and timely responses to my numerous questions and concerns, which helped me achieve a successful outcome.

★★★★★ Mr Hank T

Looks great, feels great!

It looks great, feels great. I did everything by the book, 3 weeks of sanding and grinding. I left it for 10 days before filling and I think it was all worth while. Many thanks for all your help.

FAQs about our Swimming Pool Paint

How long does epoxy swimming pool paint last?

With correct preparation and application, epoxy pool paint can last several years. For harsh environments or saltwater pools, applying an additional clear coat will help extend the lifespan.

Can I apply pool paint myself?

Yes, this epoxy swimming pool paint is suitable for DIY use, as well as professional application. Proper preparation is key to achieving the best results.

Can this be applied over existing paint?

Yes, PoolCoat System 10 can often be applied over existing paint. However, for best results, the surface should be clean, free of loose paint, and sanded to create a good bond.

How many coats of pool paint do I need?

The standard application is three coats: two coloured coats and a final clear coat for protection and gloss. For pools with rougher surfaces or saltwater, a second clear coat may be recommended.

What temperature should pool paint be applied at?

For best results, apply between 15–20°C. Avoid applying in cold, damp, or shaded conditions where curing may be slower.

When can I refill my pool after painting?

You'll need to wait 3-7 days after applying the final coat before refilling your pool. Warmer temperatures can shorten this curing time to 3 days.

What surface preparation is required before applying epoxy pool paint?

Successful pool repainting depends on thorough preparation. The pool surface must be clean, dry and structurally sound. All grease, algae, chalking and contaminants should be removed. Cracks and defects must be repaired prior to coating. Loose or incompatible paint should be removed, and smooth or non porous surfaces lightly sanded to improve adhesion. Proper preparation is essential for achieving maximum lifespan from the epoxy swimming pool coating.

How much pool paint do I need?

Coverage is approximately 30–35m² per 5 litres. For accurate quantities, use a pool paint coverage calculator based on your pool size.
