Best product
For waterproofing any project that will hold animals or fish the best product I have found is A1 Pond Paint from Antel. It is completely safe once dried and that is what makes it worth the money. It is water based but sets like a resin. It's a two part paint so mix small batches at a time because it actually goes a long way. I have built two large grow beds for a large aquaponic system (Pictured below) and a few other bits and I still have about half a tin left.

Our waterproof pond paint dries quickly. It's touch dry in 6 hours and hard dry in 12 hours at a room temperature of 20°C.
How long should I wait before refilling my pond after painting?
Allow 7 days for the paint to fully cure before refilling your pond. This ensures the paint is completely cured and safe for aquatic life.
How much paint will I need?
1ltr of Epoxy Pond Paint covers approximately 6-7 square meters on a smooth, non-porous surface. However, the coverage can vary depending on the surface porosity and application thickness. If unsure, it's best to purchase slightly more paint than you think you might need.
